Clarification?

That previous post there, I kind of got lost and never finished saying why I'll never be a straight line, or even what that means.  The fact is, I have no idea what I thought I was talking about.  To borrow a too often borrowed expression, I started with asymptomatic and asymptotic and was riffing off those two words, hoping that something would break through the fog in the looking glass.  But the looking glass has been unpredictable.
